Self taught as an artist, Daisy Clayton studied psychology at Queen Mary University London, before becoming interested in how painting could create a psychological, emotive response.
Clayton's primary goal is for her work to instill a sense of peace, bringing back memories within the viewer and giving them a momentary chance to interpret Clayton's painting as freely as they wish. Clayton's paintings are centred around the drama of light; glares, flares, reflections and soft gradients are no stranger to her brush as she captures the depth of the ocean upon her canvas.
The Hook's Take: Daisy Clayton's works are minimalist city skylines that humbly boast of holidays of the past and travels to come.
