Born and based in London, Holly Elan graduated from UWE in 2017 with a BA in Fine art and Visual Culture and has since exhibited works both across the UK and internationally.
Holly Elan works with watercolour and fluid acrylics to paint intimate and playful scenes inspired by her surroundings, using bright and bold colours to enhance them. Whilst living in New Zealand in 2018, she painted as a way to capture everyday scenes and memories. Mixing her own colour and using a wet on wet method of painting, allowing pigment to spread and bleed freely, she creates unpredictable shapes and marks that couldn’t be achieved by hand.
The Hook's Take: Holly Watson creates works that are delicate in their technique and packed full of personality. Holly's paintings are sometimes cheeky and always colourful.
